What if the future of health innovation isn’t just in molecules, diagnostics, or machine learning—but also in how we create, how we gather, and how we heal?

Urgency of Now: Creativity as a Health Equity Strategy is a cross-sector, BIO 2025 panel conversation presented by Nucarta in partnership with 1 Hour Party, Citixen Joy, and Mindvyne. This event brings together artists, strategists, entrepreneurs, and cultural organizers to explore how creativity and culture can—and must—function as critical tools in building equitable health futures.

In the wake of a global health crisis and ongoing racial reckoning, cracks in our health and innovation systems have become impossible to ignore. But rather than offering surface-level reforms, this conversation calls for radical models of care and authorship that center Black and Brown communities—not only as patients or participants, but as originators of knowledge, healing, and systemic change.

Moderated by Anu Sinha, our Founder & CEO, the panel features voices reshaping the edges of their industries:

  • Clifford Harrison, Founder of BlueBridge and Board Member at the NCAAA, who is building connective infrastructure between clinical trials and community trust—transforming inclusion from a checkbox into a strategic imperative.

  • Elorm Praise Dela-Seshie, Founder of Adorn Me Africa, Molu Boston, and AfroVybe, whose work across fashion, food, and festivals reveals how ancestral knowledge, cultural celebration, and diasporic design all serve as blueprints for public health and belonging.

  • Shazia Mir, Community and Social Impact Strategist at LabCentral, who is reimagining biotech campuses as cultural sanctuaries—curating art and story into spaces often reserved for sterile science, and proving that infrastructure includes emotion.

At BIO 2025, the panel “Urgency of Now” brought together bold voices at the intersection of public health, creativity, and racial equity — reminding us that healing doesn’t start in labs alone, but in stories, spaces, and shared vision.
Led by Nucarta, this powerful session featured artists, entrepreneurs, and cultural strategists breaking down silos and imagining new models of care rooted in culture, connection, and justice.
From poetic reflections on trauma to strategies for BIPOC-led innovation, the room was alive with questions, laughter, and radical possibility.
